Southeast Community College Sandhills Publishing STEM Center

This project was about shaping spaces where ideas spark and collaboration thrives. The STEM Center needed environments that could meet the demands of advanced education: cutting-edge labs, dynamic collaboration zones, and modern classrooms, all tied together with a clean, professional aesthetic.

To bring this vision to life, we partnered with leading brands including OFS, HON, Watson, Keilhauer, Production Basics, SitOnIt, BioFit, JSI, Dekko, and Steelcase. By blending products from multiple vendors, we honored the design firm’s concept while ensuring every piece delivered on both function and style.

Students were at the heart of this design. We created inviting lounge areas with OFS Heya and Coact pieces, complemented by Keilhauer Vagabond poufs for a relaxed, collaborative feel. In the labs, durability and performance were key, so we installed Production Basics workbenches and BioFit lab stools built for heavy use. Classrooms and training zones were equipped with Watson C9 tables, SitOnIt Parallon café tables, and Steelcase Amia instructor seating, all supported by Dekko Layer portable power units to keep technology close at hand.

Through strong vendor partnerships, Eakes delivered SCC’s vision while maximizing their budget, proving that quality and cost savings can go hand in hand.
